Fitness journey

Here I share the details of my fitness journey: a set of experiments, and how much they affect the body. Every day we log sleep quality, calories and training, and watch how those details affect my weight, heart rate and breathing: RHR, HRV and VO2 max.

What I'm watching for

  • Sleep

Does a night's sleep affect the rest of my vital signs the next morning?

  • Training

We're trying to understand how it links to heart rate and breathing, weightlifting or distance running, and find the pattern that gives us progress.

  • Food

They always say training starts in the kitchen, so we'll try to put that idea into practice.

The first days are still on their way. Check back soon.

01

Day by day

Every day has three bars: training, sleep and food. Tap any day and it shows you what I did and how my body markers looked.

02

Health markers

This is where sleep, training and food leave their mark on the body. Some show up the next morning, like Recovery score and HRV. Others take weeks, like VO2 Max. Tap a point to open that day.

Changes compare 7-day averages, so one bad weigh-in or one short night does not move them.

Other channels

I share extra details on other channels, like my Instagram account and my newsletter. And if you have a personal experiment of your own, I'd really love to hear it.

Where the data comes from

  • Garmin: weight, workouts and VO2 Max.
  • WHOOP: sleep score, RHR, HRV, Recovery score and respiratory rate.
  • Food log in Notion: calories and macros for what I eat.

This is my personal data and my own reading of it, not medical advice or a scientific recommendation.
