Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Rakaati is a prayer tracker for iPhone and Android. What you record about your prayers is between you and Allah, so the app was built to hold none of it: your data never leaves your device. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

The short version

Your prayer record

Every prayer you log — whether you prayed it, where, with whom, whether it was on time, any reason you gave for missing it, and any note you wrote — is written to your device's own private database. On iPhone that database is shared only with Rakaati's own home screen widgets. It is never uploaded, and neither the developer nor any third party can see it.

Location

Rakaati asks for your location for one purpose: to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are. The calculation happens entirely on your device, using the open-source Adhan library. Your coordinates are saved locally so times still work offline, and they are never transmitted anywhere.

Granting location is optional. If you decline it, or revoke it later in your phone's settings, the app keeps working — you simply choose your city by hand instead.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally by your phone. Nothing about them is sent over a network: there are no push notifications, and therefore no push token and no notification server. When you log a prayer from the notification, that answer is written straight to the local database. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.

Analytics and crash reporting

There are none. Rakaati contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier and no third-party libraries that phone home. The only external code it includes is the Adhan prayer-times library, which performs astronomical arithmetic on the device and has no networking of any kind.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored only on your device, you are always in control. You can erase your entire record from Settings → Delete all my records inside the app, or by deleting the app. There is no server-side copy to request the deletion of, because none is ever created.

If your phone backs itself up to iCloud or to Google, that backup is made by your phone under your own account and settings, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy. The developer has no access to it.

Children

Rakaati is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
