Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Wime is a personal time-tracking app that shows you where you spend your time. It was built privacy-first: your data never leaves your iPhone. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

The short version

Location data

Wime uses your location, including in the background, to automatically detect the places you visit and how long you stay, so it can build your timeline and insights. To do this well throughout the day, Wime requests the “Always” location permission.

This location data is processed entirely on your iPhone and saved to your device’s private on-device database. It is never uploaded to any server, and neither the developer nor any third party can see it. You can revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

The map screen

The map screen loads map tiles from a maps provider: Apple Maps on iPhone and OpenStreetMap on Android. When you open the map, that provider receives standard map-tile requests for the area you’re viewing, as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy and the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy. Your places and visits themselves are still stored only on your device.

Subscriptions

Wime offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (Wime Pro) with a free trial. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Wime does not see or store your payment information. Subscription management and billing are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Data you export

Wime lets you export your data as a JSON file and share or copy it. When you choose to do this, you decide where that data goes (for example, another app, a file, or an AI assistant). Anything you share leaves Wime’s private storage at that point and is governed by the terms of wherever you send it.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored only on your device, you are always in control. You can erase all of your Wime data at any time from Settings → Erase all data inside the app, or by deleting the app from your iPhone. There is no server-side copy to request the deletion of, because none is ever created.

Children

Wime is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
