Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Wime Desk is a time-tracking app for the Mac. It was built so that everything it records stays on your Mac. This page explains what it records, why, and where it keeps it.

The short version

What Wime Desk records

While it runs, Wime Desk keeps a record of how you use your Mac so it can build your timeline:

You can pause tracking at any time from the menu bar, turn off window titles in Settings, and mark any app or site private so its time is counted without keeping titles.

Screen Recording

macOS only shares the titles of other apps' windows with apps that have Screen Recording permission. Wime Desk asks for it for that reason alone: to read titles such as a document or project name. It never captures, stores or looks at images of your screen. You can turn the permission off at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, and Wime Desk keeps tracking apps without titles.

Where your data is kept

Everything is stored in a database inside Wime Desk's own container on your Mac. The desktop widgets read a short summary of your day from a folder the app shares with them, on the same Mac. Nothing is synced to iCloud or anywhere else, and each Mac keeps its own history.

Purchases

Wime Desk is a paid app sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment. Wime Desk does not see or store your payment details. Purchases are handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Deleting your data

To remove everything, open Wime Desk and go to Settings → Delete all data. On a Mac, moving an app to the Trash leaves its data behind, so do this first if you want it gone. There is no copy on any server to ask us to delete, because none is ever made.

Children

Wime Desk is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
