Common questions

Nothing is showing up on my timeline

Wime Desk records while it is running, so keep it open. You can close the window; the menu bar icon shows it is still working. If the sidebar says Paused, press play there or in the menu bar. Entries appear after a minute or two of activity.

Entries only show app names, not titles

Window titles need the Screen Recording permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, turn on Wime Desk, then quit and reopen it. Wime Desk only reads titles. It never captures your screen.

A website is counted as Browsing

Wime Desk recognizes common sites from the browser's tab title, like YouTube, GitHub, Gmail or Figma. Other sites count as Browsing. You can change the category of any app or site on the Activity page.

How do I put time into a project?

Click an entry on the timeline and choose a project from the menu at the top. To have it happen on its own from now on, use Always assign similar time… at the bottom of the same panel, or add rules on the Projects page. Rules match an app, a window title or a site, and apply to past days too.

How do I add the widgets?

Right-click the desktop, choose Edit Widgets…, search for Wime Desk and drag a widget out: Focus Timer, Now, Time Breakdown or Projects.

The focus alerts are too much, or not enough

On the Focus page, under Alerts, you can change how long Wime Desk waits before a distraction alert, turn the focus and break reminders on or off, and turn off the sounds.

Can I move my history to another Mac?

Not yet. Each Mac keeps its own history, and one purchase covers every Mac signed in to your Apple ID.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles payments for the Mac App Store, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
